Simpson Judge is delighted to be partnering with an organisation in Macclesfield who are looking to appoint an experienced Group Financial Accountant into their small but very friendly team. This is a key role within the organisation and will require the successful candidate to take sole responsibility of all aspects of accounting for two groups of Companies, with the support of an Accounts Assistant/Administrator. This will suit someone ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, with hands on, broad experience within an SME.Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Financial Statements and supporting notes for Annual reporting
  • Preparation of the statutory accounts including supporting schedules and analysis for Audit
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts
  • Preparation of the annual Budgets
  • Ensuring the accurate posting of all relevant transactions
  • Preparation and production of Management Accounts, including supporting analysis, budget re-forecasts and commentary
  • Preparation of Interim Accounts and supporting notes at half-year
  • Preparation of financial data and supporting documents to enable production of Overseas tax returns and UK Corporation Tax returns
  • Submission of ERS data to HMRC
  • Preparation of UK Annual Tax returns for multiple companies
  • Submission VAT/GST Returns in the UK and Overseas
  • Raising inter-company invoices
  • Maintaining small fixed asset and depreciation register
  • Responsibility for the Payroll, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, including collecting and analysing timesheet information
  • Reconciliation of bank and cash accounts

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • Experience operating at a similar level in an SME
  • Experience with international, multi-currency foreign exchange accounting, including IFRS and tax
  • Familiar with consolidations of international subsidiaries and preparation of statutory accounts
  • A proven track record of managing complex financial projects and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement and change management
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Sage 50 experience
  • IRIS Payroll experience desired but not essential

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary up to 65,000 p.a. dependent on experience

The right to work in the UK without expiry is essential here, as my client is unable to provide sponsorship. This is a fully onsite role, so only candidates within a commutable distance to Macclesfield can be considered.
