We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Grinder to join a busy engineering and metal-cutting environment in Poynton.

The role will involve grinding, fettling and finishing steel components following the cutting process, ensuring parts are clean, smooth and ready for the next stage of production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Grinding and fettling steel components using hand and power tools
• Removing excess material, sharp edges, burrs and imperfections from cut steel
• Cleaning and preparing components to the required standard
• Working from job specifications and drawings where required
• Carrying out visual quality checks on finished work
• Moving and handling steel components safely around the workshop
• Maintaining a clean and safe working area
• Following all company health & safety procedures

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in industrial grinding, fettling, metal finishing or steel processing
• Comfortable working with heavy steel and metal components
• Experience using angle grinders and other hand-held power tools
• Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of their work
• Physically fit and comfortable with a hands-on role
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team
• Previous experience in a steel, fabrication, engineering or metal-processing environment would be advantageous
