HR Manager - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
55000 Annual
HR Manager - 12 Month FTC
Zachary Daniels is delighted to be partnering with a growing and ambitious retail business to recruit an experienced HR Manager on a 12 month fixed-term contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who enjoys being close to the business, building strong relationships and making a real difference to its people.
We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running, provide confident and commercially focused HR support and take ownership of the day-to-day people agenda, while also helping to improve processes and support the business as it continues to evolve.
It's a broad and varied role, so you'll need to be equally comfortable supporting senior leaders, managing complex employee relations matters and getting involved in the operational side of HR.
The role
Act as a trusted HR partner to managers and senior leaders, providing practical and commercially focused advice.
Take ownership of the day-to-day HR function, ensuring employees and managers receive a high level of support.
Manage a broad range of employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinaries, performance, capability and absence.
Coach and develop managers, building their confidence in managing people matters effectively.
Support the delivery of key HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, employee lifecycle management and offboarding.
Review and improve HR policies, processes and ways of working.
Support wider people initiatives, including employee engagement, development and organisational change.
Ensure the business remains compliant with UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
Provide guidance and support to junior HR colleagues, helping to develop capability within the team.
Work closely with senior stakeholders to identify people priorities and support wider business objectives.
About you
We're looking for an experienced HR Manager or a strong Senior HR Advisor who is ready to take that next step.
You'll ideally bring:
A strong generalist HR background, ideally gained within a fast-paced, commercial environment.
Excellent employee relations experience and the confidence to manage complex cases independently.
Experience partnering with and influencing managers and senior stakeholders.
A good understanding of UK employment legislation.
A proactive, pragmatic approach with the ability to balance operational HR with wider people initiatives.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels.
Experience supporting or managing junior HR team members would be advantageous.
CIPD qualification would be beneficial.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is approachable, adaptable and happy to roll their sleeves up. Someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership and can quickly build credibility across a business.
What's on offer?
12 month fixed-term contract with a growing retail business.
Broad and varied HR role with plenty of autonomy and exposure to senior leadership.
Opportunity to make a real impact and contribute to the continued development of the people function.
Supportive and collaborative working environment.
Competitive salary and benefits package.
If you're an experienced HR Manager looking for your next opportunity, or a Senior HR Advisor ready for a broader role, we'd love to hear from you.
