We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and analytical individual to join our IT team as a Data Analyst.

This role will support East Cheshire Hospice to make informed, evidence-based decisions by collecting, cleaning, analysing and presenting data from across the organisation.

Working as part of a dynamic and collaborative IT team with an exciting Digital and Data Strategy, the successful candidate will play an important role in developing the Hospice's data analytics capability.

They will work closely with the Head of IT to support delivery of the Data Strategy, helping to improve reporting, strengthen data quality and provide clear insight for operational, clinical and strategic decision-making.

No two days are the same in this varied role.

You will work with clinical and non-clinical teams to understand reporting requirements, improve data quality, promote good data practices and produce accurate, timely reports and dashboards that are accessible to non-technical stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of data analysis concepts, datasets, SQL and coding, along with solid knowledge and experience of using Power BI, and Excel Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is a positive, proactive and team-oriented approach.

You will need:

  • Experience of analysing, interpreting and presenting data to support decision-making.
  • Knowledge of data analysis concepts, including data quality, KPI development, reporting metrics and basic statistical techniques.
  • A working knowledge of SQL and coding, with the ability to understand and manipulate data from multiple sources.
  • Experience of using Power BI to develop reports, dashboards and visualisations, or equivalent reporting and analytics tools.
  • An understanding of data models, tables, relationships, APIs and data integrations.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, data cleansing (Power Query) and analysis.
  • The ability to communicate complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to data analysis.
  • An understanding of data protection, confidentiality and information governance within a regulated environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across clinical and non-clinical teams.
  • A proactive, organised and collaborative approach, with the ability to manage priorities and work independently when required
