The HV Technician is an experienced Crafts Person who will carry out the role of HV
Jointer or HV Fitter as well as the additional responsibilities set out below. Ensuring all
work is carried out safely and efficiently. The role requires a thorough understanding of the
risks associated with working in a high-voltage environment and adherence to safety
protocols.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience in HV/LV work
- HNC
- HV Substation Awareness Trained
- In-depth knowledge of working in High Voltage environments and associated
- risks
Technical Skills:
- Interpret and work from electrical drawings, ranging from simple schematics to complex technical diagrams
- Interpret available information to diagnose the cause of a fault, plan remedial/repair works and restore supplies
- Perform LV AP duties for planned shutdowns and faults
- Produce Technical reports as required by Customers
- Travel and work away from home as required, including working long hours
- and weekends

Basic Requirements:
- Full Driving Licence
- Safe record of work
- Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills
- Participate in Standby Rota for Out of Hours Faults
Essential:
- Willingness to travel and/or work away as needed
- Willingness to work long hours and weekends where necessary
- Willingness to undertake Senior Authorised Person (SAP) training
- Willingness to learn and test HV and LV Protection schemes
- Ability to manage own workload and make appointments with Customers when required
