A "tiny" version of the Treacle Market selling only food and non-alcoholic drink is set to launch on Saturday.
Last month's market was cancelled due to a rise in Coronavirus cases locally, but this version is going ahead in line with current lockdown restrictions, which classes food sales as essential.
Organisers have described the market, which will feature 25 stalls, as a "lockdown larder", allowing small independent food and drink businesses to get some trade during this difficult period.
Jane Munro, one of the organisers, said: "This is an opportunity for locals to do their food shopping at a much smaller market of only 25 stalls and not the usual sociable Treacle event pulling visitors from further away."
Rather than a one off market day one Sunday a month, Macclesfield town centre will host the food traders from Saturday 14 November until 28 November.
Jane added: "It is a tiny Treacle for local people to shop for quality food in an environment that may feel more comfortable than the supermarket at the current time. A place to treat yourself as well as get the basics."
The range of products on offer from traders include vegetables, cheese, bread, cakes, preserves and more. There will also be a street food vendor.
"There will be no alcohol for sale. Importantly it is also a trading opportunity for small producers and makers whose businesses have been hit so hard by Covid and are desperate for an opportunity to trade," Jane said.
