AstraZeneca Macclesfield raises £76,000 for local charity partners during 2023

A big employer in Macclesfield have raised an astonishing amount for two Macclesfield charities.

Employees at AstraZeneca in Macclesfield have helped to raise over £76k for local charity partners East Cheshire Hospice and Silklife Foodbank, with additional funds for both charities being raised through sponsorship, events and other initiatives

Employees raised funds through a variety of individual and team fundraising activities throughout the course of 2023, which were then matched by AstraZeneca.

AZ Macclesfield employees also regularly donate food and other much-needed items for the foodbank through two collection points permanently based on site. The company also sponsors the annual Christmas Tree collection organised by East Cheshire Hospice.

Dan Blackman from Silklife Foodbank said "AZ Macclesfield's massive financial contribution will help us to make a really meaningful difference to the most vulnerable in our local community. We are immensely grateful for their ongoing support."

Rachel Allcock from East Cheshire Hospice said: "Working with the AZ team is such a pleasure. Their staff have put in a monumental effort in so many ways. The definition of team spirit!"

AZ will continue to support both charities throughout 2024.

Guy Camm from AZ said "Our employees know that our local charities need all the support they can get. We're constantly amazed at the wide variety of fundraising activities our teams always seem to have on the go! We're delighted to match the donations raised for these charities, both of which provide such crucial support to individuals and families across our community."
