Bollington animal rescue team help free pony from muddy bog

A pony has been rescued from a bog.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service's animal rescue team from Bollington helped to free a pony.
Olaf, 13, was unable to escape after getting stuck up to his neck in mud.
A CFRS spokesperson said: "A specialist animal rescue team was called when a pony got stuck in a bog in its field.
"The 13-year-old, named Olaf, was stuck up to his neck in a muddy area and couldn't get out.
"A vet was called to sedate him while crews worked on a plan to release him safely from his muddy entrapment."
CFRS received reports of the incident, off Foden Lane in Alderley Edge, at 9.35pm on Wednesday (May 21).
The animal rescue team from Bollington were joined at the scene by two engines, one each from Wilmslow and Knutsford.
They were in attendance for approximately two hours.
