Bollington's Remembrance Sunday event will be live-streamed this year with Coronavirus restrictions meaning the normal scenes of crowds paying their respects won't take place.
The town council announced that they will still hold a pared back service will be led by the mayor, Cllr John Cadman Stewart.
A post on the Bollington Town Council website said: "This year has to be different as we have to make the Bollington service COVID compliant, in line with government regulations which stipulate 'no gatherings in public places of more than 6 people'. However, we feel it is of the utmost importance to still include everyone."
The mayor will be joined by the vice chairman of the Bollington Royal British Legion on Sunday 8 November, where wreaths will be laid at the Bollington War Memorial "on behalf of all the people of Bollington and District".
Residents can watch the ceremony streamed live on the Bollington Royal British Legion Facebook page.
The council added: "Whilst a little different, we feel it is important that everyone still feels included and embraced by the service."
Bollington residents have been urged to pay their respects on Wednesday 11 November by observing the two minute silence from their doorsteps.
"In this most difficult of years we hope you will all approve of these arrangements and the people remembered on the memorial will get the same respect we give them every year," the council said.
