'Controlled explosion' to be carried out after discovery of suspected WWII ordnance

A suspected ordnance from the Second World War is set to be destroyed in a 'controlled explosion'.
Police remain at the scene following the discovery of a suspected World War Two ordnance in Mottram St Andrew.
The device, which was first uncovered on Sunday (September 28), has been moved to a nearby field.
It is due to be safely detonated within the next few hours.
Police have warned that there may be more than one controlled explosion while the explosive ordnance disposal unit work to make the device safe.
A number of properties in the local area were evacuated following the discovery of the device, with a police cordon put in place as a precautionary measure.

*UPDATE 16:00*
The ordnance has now been moved to a field on Sycamore Quarry on Windmill Lane where it can be securely detonated by the explosive ordnance disposal unit.
A number of houses in the nearby area have been evacuated as a precautionary measure.
A refuge centre has been set up at Bollington Town Hall for those impacted.
Other residents in the local area are advised to stay indoors with their windows and doors closed.
