Iconic Chinese takeaway to close after nearly 50 years

An iconic Macclesfield takeaway is to close after nearly 50 years in business.
Treasure House has announced it will soon be shutting its doors for the final time.
Formerly Gordon's Chippy, the Sunderland Street venue has been serving up Cantonese cuisine since 1977.
It has also been the subject of not one but two songs by the Macc Lads - Got to be Gordons and Gordon's Revenge.
Owner, Gordon Chan, said: "I'm at retirement age now, I'm 69 and it's a lot of physical work.
"It's not easy to run and the business isn't profitable anymore.
"We would like to thank all our customers for their support. We are going to miss them!"

The Treasure House has not yet announced an official closing date.
However, a poster spotted at the restaurant states that it will be 'closing soon'.
It reads: "Dear valued customers, after nearly five decades serving our community, we've made the heartfelt decision to close the Treasure House as we step into retirement.
"We opened our doors in 1977 with a simple goal: to share our love of Chinese food and offer a warm welcome to every customer who walked through our doors.
"Over the years, we've been lucky enough to serve generations of families, build lasting friendships, and be part of countless shared meals and memories."
The poster continues: "In recent years, the economic climate has made things more challenging, and like many small businesses, we've been affected.
"Unfortunately, the business has not been sustainable for some time.
"Still, we look back with deep gratitude for the support you've shown us all these years.
"From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our journey."
