A dog was rescued from a fire in Prestbury.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service have launched an investigation following a bedroom fire at a property on Badger Road.

Two engines, one each from the Macclesfield and Bollington stations, were called to the scene at 10.41am this morning (June 17).

A CFRS spokesperson said: "A fire in the front bedroom on a detached property saw firefighters attend.

"They used two hose reels to put the fire out and a thermal imaging camera to check the property.

"Smoke alarms activated and alerted to this fire, and as a result one dog was rescued.

"A high pressure fan assisted with the removal of smoke from the property.

"An investigation to establish the cause will now take place."
