A local businesswoman from Macclesfield has recently gone viral on TikTok after posting her homemade bath bombs, gaining over 4.2 million views alongside her 9000 followers.

BubbleBeez Founder Laura Barnett (30), born and raised in Macclesfield, started her online business selling homemade bath bombs four years ago, after receiving a bad reaction whilst using a bath bomb from a well known cosmetics shop.

She wanted to create a product that was safe for sensitive skin, whilst still being affordable and accessible to everyone.

After spending six months researching and developing her own products, Laura very quickly gained a 'whirlwind' of success with the small business that she had established.

Her sales were strong from the get-go, due to being the only bath bomb maker in Macclesfield, but peaked when a video of her 'fizzy fail' went viral on TikTok, achieving over four million views.

With the app increasing in popularity during lockdown, Laura started posting videos to her page back in December 2020, as she, much like everyone else, fell into the 'TikTok hole'.

And TikTok is not the only social media platform that she's taken over.

BubbleBeez has a significant presence on Facebook, where Laura has developed a close-knit community with her loyal customers, known amongst themselves as the 'Beez'.

"We really do have an amazing bond, me and my customers,'' said Laura, overwhelmed by the ever-growing community that has formed from her products.

"It is daft to say that a bath bomb or a wax melt has made these people come together, but it really has.'

Despite developing her booming business, Laura discussed the difficulties of juggling being a mother, carer for her epileptic partner, and a businesswoman at the same time.

She expressed her gratitude for her community who remain understanding of her priorities as a mum.

"I couldn't do any of this without the support from my Beez," she revealed.

She continues to switch up her products each week, providing a wide range of fragrances, shapes and colours for her supporters.

Laura hopes to continue to provide affordable 'foamy fun' to continue to support her family and her online community.
