There are just 24 hours left to help secure the future of a beloved Macclesfield pie business, as the man behind the company battles for his life.

Lord of the Pies, which has been situated on 19 Chestergate since 2016, is under threat with the serious illness of their founder.

Macclesfield dad-of-two Oliver Doyle (41), wants to raise £19,000 expand his business to secure his family's financial future, amid excruciating rounds of treatments for tumours.

The crowdfunder can be found here.

"I have been diagnosed with a very rare genetic illness and have been told that I have metastatic pheochromocytoma paraganglioma," he said.

"I have tumours in my sacrum, spine, t5, original nephrectomy site and lymph nodes. I am in a lot of pain, but I still stand strong and fit, ready to fight.

"Lord of the Pies will stand with or without me.

"It's a complicated and hard scenario to be in. I can't thank everyone enough for the help support and messages. To be diagnosed with a bad, complex illness and have a business coming out of unprecedented times is a very tough place to be.

"While I am under the care of Christie's. I have no doubt a smaller life expectancy than before. But I am strong and I will fight until my last day.

"I will fix this business so it provides for my family and staff, so there is less stress for my wife Lindsay whom currently looks after me, my two daughters, and runs the entire business."

They want to create more Macclesfield jobs in Sales, Chefs, and a Shop Manager.

Additionally, they also seek to open a delivery site in Manchester to serve their award-winning pies across the north west.

But they cannot do this without an immediate funding boost, helped for by the generous Macclesfield community.

The money will only go to the Macc business if at least £19,000 is pledged by August 3 2021 at 6:07pm. Donate here.

"The plan is simple, we need to repair the damage of COVID, more equipment and more staff to produce," he added.

"For years we have tirelessly worked to build the brand and make the best products we can.

We have the name, we have the products, we now need to produce and sell.

"We need to make essential repairs to the shop and kitchen, we need to bolster up equipment get ready to expand. You want to make a lot of pies you need a big old oven. And big old ovens aren't cheap.

"It's no easy thing to go public and share my story. I will never be able to say thanks enough but from the bottom of my heart, thank you."

Bonuses for donating includes having a new pie flavour named after you, and a meal which also goes to support the Christie.

309 people have supported the campaign thus far, which is currently £5293 away from the required goal.
