A Macclesfield pub is doing their bit for a local charity.
Old Millstone, of 66 Waters Green, is to champion Silklife Foodbank throughout September.
In fact, you can bring a tin behind the bar now, in support of next month's campaign.
On September 6 and September 8, Old Millstone will host two nights of live entertainment to raise awareness, money and goods in aid of Silklife Foodbank.
Silklife Foodbank is run and supported by Silklife Church and is stocked mainly by regular food and financial donations from church members and the wider Macclesfield community.
But the warmer weather does not mean the problems exacerbated by the cost of living crisis does not go away.
Since the formation of Silklife Foodbank, their range of services offered, like the number of people that use it, has increased.
In addition to emergency food support, the good cause provides free clothing, a baby bank and more.
So to help out the good cause located just a short walk away, publican Eli Fernihough stepped in to provide two fundraising events.
"We currently have two days of live entertainment confirmed, and hope to do three all through the weekend of Friday September 6 to Sunday September 8.
"It is going to be a great weekend. Thank you to the community for their support."
Performers include a George Michael tribute act, female vocalist Tracy J, Cassie Melody, and Pete Valentine. Eli would like to work with more local acts too, for this music-based foodbank fundraiser.
Eli doing her bit is part of a national initiative by pub operator Proper Pubs, who were recently awarded 'Best Community Pub Operator' at the Publican Awards 2024.
The days of entertainment coincides with National Foodbank Day on September 6.

Silklife Foodbank was contacted for comment. And Dan Blackman, team lead Co-ordinator at Silklife Foodbank responded.
"We are very grateful to all of the team at Old Millstone for their contributions and continued support, "he said.
"The great work accomplished in our town and local area by way of emergency food response in times of crisis depends wholly on the generosity of the local community. Be it through volunteering time and skills, partnering as a corporate sponsor or holding a fundraising event.
"We can only help others when people like you provide food and finances to help us bridge the gap.
"Thank you for recognising the importance of the Silklife Foodbank and Community Hub in bringing hope and light into what can be very dark and challenging times in people's lives. You are awesome."
