New single for Macclesfield musician in iTunes Top 40

A Macclesfield musician has thanked her listeners as her latest single is one of the most downloaded songs in the country right now.

Minerva Daisy (20) released her fourth single Something Strange today. It can be listened to at the top of this article.

The song, which is about being cheated on, takes on a cinematic feel from a jazz-twinged piano sounding like footsteps and a movie poster-like cover designed by Minerva.

Despite pouring her heart out on the track, it is actually Minerva's most uplifting-sounding song so far, and has hit the ground running with listeners.

"We're currently at number 39 [on iTunes]," said Minerva.

"If you can gather the troops and get them to order the single on iTunes, we might have a shot at number 1!! It's 79p. It gets you a FREE ticket to a gig on March 11 if you share that you have ordered. Thank you.

"This song came from such a painful experience and now makes me feel empowered like a badass. And I just hope it does the same for you."

Minerva will likely pass 10,000 streams on Spotify alone with her latest single.

The British and Irish Modern Music Institute attendee was born in our town in March 2001.

You can follow Minerva on Instagram.

The single can be bought here.

Minerva has 15,000 likes on TikTok.
