Macc Repair Cafe
Macclesfield Repair Cafe is back again.
The organisers said: "Our friendly volunteer experts are here to help you with repairs, offer advice, and even assist in finding spare parts. Whether it's a wonky bicycle, a frayed piece of clothing, or a malfunctioning electronic or mechanical item, we've got you covered!
"Bring those belongings whether they mean something to you or to someone close to you.
"While you're with us, take a break and enjoy a cup of tea, a steaming coffee, and some delicious cake.
"It's not just about fixing things; it's about building community and making a positive impact on our environment.
"There's no charge for our services, but if you can make a donation to help maintain the Macclesfield Repair Café, that would be fantastic! Let's work together to create a more sustainable and repair-friendly community.
Bring your things for fixing to the Duke Street Community Centre (Senior Citizen's Hall) Duke St, Macclesfield, SK11 6UR.
Get on Your Running Shoes
The Wincle Fete is on this weekend, and there are still things to sign up for with just days to go.
One of these is the famous Fete & Trout Run on Saturday, 8th June.
The dancers & sheep shearers – and hopefully dog owners - are practising, the stall holders are collecting prizes and things to sell and the Trout Run final preparations are in full swing.
The main race – with a trout for every runner - is absolutely full as usual, but it would be nice to see some more youngsters in the junior race – it's a three km fell race involving wading through the River Dane (conditions permitting) and a great introduction to the sport. To take part you need to be between ages 11 and 16 by 31 DECEMBER 2024. Entries on the day cost £5 or you can reserve your place in advance at BookitZone.
The Fete opens at 13.30 but runners can register from 13.00. Look forward to welcoming all runners, young and old on Saturday. Bring family and friends to watch and to enjoy the fete. Please note everything is cash only. £2 to enter the fete (12 and under free).
