Youths have been told to stay away from an abandoned mansion.

Police in Tytherington are urging parents to keep an eye on their children.

This follows reports of groups of 12-16-year-olds breaking into the burnt-out Beech Noll property off Beech Lane.

A fire ripped through the 14-bed mansion back in August 2020.

A police spokesperson said: "Neighbourhood police are aware of youth related ASB at the derelict, burnt out property (Beech Noll) off Beech Lane.

"Groups of children aged 12–16 years continue to trespass and cause further damage inside the abandoned property.

"The trespassers are accessing the property from Summerlea Close, often being verbally abusive towards residents when challenged.

"Tytherington Police are urging parents/guardians to take responsibility for their children's behaviour and whereabouts.

"The derelict building presents a significant risk to anyone's safety who enters and unlawfully trespasses."
