A future coronavirus vaccine might need to be given every 12 months AstraZeneca - which has a large manufacturing base in Macclesfield - has told global business news network CNBC.

The pharmaceutical giant is one of several working on a potential coronavirus vaccine and AstraZeneca CEO Pascal Soriot told CNBC's Squawk Box Europe yesterday (Thurs) that most companies are targeting two injections for the initial vaccination.

Government housing agency Homes England has announced Barratt and David Wilson Homes North West as its preferred developer to provide 300 new homes at the former King's School campus at Fence Avenue, Macclesfield.

Residents and visitors to Macclesfield will be dining out in style next month, as a number of local restaurants, pubs and cafés take part in the government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

In a bid to boost the hospitality industry following the coronavirus lockdown, the unprecedented government scheme will allow people who dine out from Monday to Wednesday during August to benefit from 50 per cent off the price of their meals, up to the value of £10 a head, with the government reimbursing the restaurant the remaining 50 per cent.

Tytherington-based Tidy Planet is shipping its first composter to Australia to help a community farm divert up to 300kg of food and green waste from landfill each day.

The global partnership will see the organic waste and waste-to-energy solutions company's Rocket composter head over 17,000 km to Fish Creek in Victoria, and installed near not-for-profit Buckley Park Community Farm.
