Saturday 18 April
On Friday 17th April, 10,000 Palestinian runners were due to be pounding the streets of Bethlehem for the 10th Palestine Marathon. The Palestine Marathon takes place in the shadow of the illegal Separation Wall, with locals and internationals coming together in Bethlehem to take on the full marathon, half, 10km or family 5km fun run. Since 2020, Amos Trust has organised Run The Wall to coincide with the Palestine Marathon. Thousands of people around the world have run or walked in solidarity with Palestine over the same weekend.
Due to the situation in the Middle East and the ongoing genocide in Gaza, this year's Palestine Marathon in Bethlehem has been postponed — but we're running anyway, in solidarity, over the same weekend. The official virtual marathon is still going ahead, with organisers in Bethlehem urging people around the world to run for Palestine.
Please join us in Macclesfield on Saturday 18th April, meeting at 10:30am outside the Town Hall. We will be walking loops of the town centre, each about 2km long - do as many loops as you like. Wear Palestinian colours, bring your flags and wear a sign saying 'I'm walking the wall for Palestine'.
