In 1872, the popular English novelist Amelia B. Edwards embarked on an intrepid journey through the Dolomites.

Her book, Untrodden Peaks and Unfrequented Valleys, first introduced the sublime beauty of the landscape to foreign travellers; now recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

More than a century later, inspired by Edwards' travelogue, Susan and Alan Boyle retraced her route.

In this spectacularly illustrated presentation, Alan juxtaposes Amelia's warm-hearted accounts of charming incidents on her journey with amusing anecdotes from his own research.

The dual narratives reveal the enduring impact of Nature and humanity on our emotions.
