Our Oakwood activities service provides invaluable support to individuals and families in the community.
Oakwood activities are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Activity Leader to facilitate engaging Arts and Crafts sessions for adults with learning disabilities.
As our Arts and Crafts Activity Leader, you'll work in collaboration with your colleagues to design and deliver fun, inclusive sessions that encourage participation, creativity, and confidence.
Whether it's delivering mindful crafts such as knitting, jewellery making and painting by numbers, or working on expressive large scale art projects, your goal is to make Arts and Crafts accessible and joyful for everyone.
Principal responsibilities:
- Providing a creative, stimulating, educational and enjoyable environment for all service users. Encouraging self-expression, social interaction and enjoyment through Arts and Crafts.
- Planning daily activities that consider individual needs and interests and day to day service delivery that maximises service user's involvement and development.
- Supporting service users in their chosen activity and adapting activities to meet individual support needs and group dynamics.
- Giving clear instructions to service users, support staff and volunteers. Completing support plans for all service users.
- Ensuring all materials and equipment are readily available for each session.
- Informing the Day Services Management Team of any planned expenditure.
- Completing all necessary documentation accurately and in accordance with Trust procedures.
- Being aware of service users' dietary and medication requirements as identified in their support plans and risk assessments.
- Reviewing all risk assessments and service user information to keep them current, relevant, complete, and updated.
- Obtaining regular feedback from service users and facilitating any actions identified.
