Macclesfield band Cassia are celebrating an amazing 30 million streams, alongside the release of their new single Right There.
Following the release of their February EP Powerlines, and their March single Gotta Get Through Til Monday, the band have now had their music played 32 million times on Spotify.
New single Right There is the second to be taken from their upcoming Magnifier EP, out this summer on BMG.
The Macc trio consists of bassist Lou Cotterill from the Moss Estate, Rob Ellis from Prestbury, and drummer Jake Leff of Tytherington.
The band cut their teeth playing Macclesfield's pubs before their current success.
Cassia are elated with their streaming milestone, and had this to say to the people of Macc:
"Being talked about even as a small part of the Macclesfield music scene is an absolute honour to us as the musical history of the town is so great," said Cassia.
"We started the band in spoons, grew up playing gigs in venues like The Swan With Two Necks, Mash, Snowgoose, Ronnies, and festivals like Barnaby and Oxjam.
"We're genuinely so thankful to everyone who gave us a chance and put us on!
"The town and the people in it have been a huge catalyst for us. We've been fortunate enough to do things we never dreamed of and that's only been possible because of the support of the town and their passion for music.
Discounting Joy Division and New Order, bands that contains two and three of their members from Macclesfield, this streaming milestone makes Cassia the most successful band from Macclesfield.
Their most streamed track is their jubilant summer-sounding pop song 100 Times Over, which was featured on their chart-topping 2019 debut album Replica.
New single Right There is out now, and received an exclusive premiere on Annie Mac's Tuesday evening radio show, on the day it was announced she is leaving her BBC Radio 1 Future Sounds programme.
Singer and lead guitarist Rob Ellis' opening lines: "I was sitting right there looking out the window / Trying to keep the day from losing all my light", is a lyric that many in lockdown will find relatable.
Annie Mac's replacement, DJ Clara Amfo, described the band as "Macclesfield's finest, they're a wonderful band".
You can find the band on Spotify, Apple Music, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and their website.
The Macclesfield outfit, who now live in Berlin, have also just hit 7,000 subscribers on YouTube where the music video for Right There premiered.
