A care-at-home service provided by a Kennedy Avenue care home has been recognised as one of the best in the UK.

Belong at Home, the home care service provided by not-for-profit care village operator Belong, is celebrating being ranked in the top 20 home care groups in the UK for a fourth consecutive year by leading online reviews site Homecare.co.uk.

Operating locally from its regional base at Belong Macclesfield on Kennedy avenue, the service supports older people living in their own homes with a range of wellbeing and daily living needs.

The listing is based on verified customer reviews, with Belong at Home achieving an average review score of 9.8 out of 10 for the past year, placing Belong at Home Macclesfield amongst the highest rated services in the country.

The Homecare.co.uk Top 20 Home Care Awards 2021 recognise the most recommended domiciliary care providers throughout the UK.

Based on the reviews of its customers, a position in the Top 20 Home Care Group category demonstrates that Belong at Home has achieved high ratings for all aspects of its service, including its people, care and support, management, treating customers with dignity, and overall value for money.

It is the fourth successive year Belong at Home has picked up the group award.

Operating in areas local to Belong's seven dementia care villages across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, and Staffordshire, Belong at Home services provide customers with trained and caring community support workers to assist with any customer needs, including one-to-one personal care, housekeeping, such as cleaning, food preparation and running errands, as well as companionship and support to enable greater wellbeing.

This includes safe excursions outside the home and exercise initiatives, which have been invaluable for the physical and mental health of customers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Belong at Home customers and their relatives also benefit from free access to Belong's Admiral Nurse service, which provides mental health nurses specialising in dementia care, in association with Dementia UK, to help support people who have been diagnosed with dementia.

Karen Burgess, area manager at Belong at Home Macclesfield, commented on the win: "We're delighted with our continued success at the Homecare.co.uk Awards.

"It's especially rewarding because the results are based on reviews by people who interact with our services.

"The Belong at Home team work tirelessly to ensure the highest standards of care for our customers, and this is well-deserved recognition of that."

Belong at Home recently launched a Macclesfield recruitment drive as it looks to expand into new locations and in response to additional demands placed on the care sector by the COVID-19 pandemic, including enhanced cleaning routines and the requirement for colleagues to self-isolate.

More information about opportunities at Belong and how to apply can be found on the organisation's website.
