Macclesfield: Do you have any fond memories of The Miner's Arms?

Well, you may be pleased to know a huge £850,000 refurbishment of the Adlington pub is planned for 2022,

with work scheduled to start once a new licensee has been recruited. The revamp will see Heineken-owned Star Pubs & Bars take the country inn to a new level providing Adlington residents with a top-end family and dog friendly village pub in keeping with its desirable canal-side location. The Miner's Arms new look and fantastic food and drink offer will broaden its appeal attracting people from further afield wanting to socialise in a top-quality village pub. The Wood Lane North business is seven miles north of Macclesfield town centre. As part of the refurb, a number of structural changes will enhance the pub's layout, creating new and exciting

areas in which to drink, dine and entertain.

These include replacing the existing dated conservatory with a striking contemporary timber clad extension seating 60 with floor to ceiling windows and bifold doors leading out to the garden.

This new spacious dining area with its tall, pitched roof will contrast with the main pub's cosy snug room with its open fire.

A large commercial kitchen will be installed to enable the pub to cater for the increased number of diners and a new loo extension added. The amping up of The Miner's gastropub offering will create new jobs for our town.

Inside, the dining extension will feature modern chevron style timber wall cladding, stone and timber floors, statement lighting and skylights with rafters festooned with hanging plants.

The rest of the pub will also be redecorated, the furniture upgraded, and new atmospheric lighting fitted.

Outside a new large, grassed area with decorative planting will wrap around the new dining extension. And at the back of the pub, there will be a new terrace leading down to a huge, grassed beer garden offering alfresco eating and dining options for 180.

There will be an eclectic mix of new garden furniture including circular wooden picnic tables and

benches and metal cushion covered sofas and chairs. Star Pubs & Bars Investment Manager, Charlie Gale is looking forward to implementing the exciting changes. "We are looking for a top calibre operator to take on The Miner's Arms, with a view to creating best food pub in the area," they said. "The changes will create a large pub with lots of capacity inside and out. It offers someone a fantastic opportunity to create an exceptional pub appealing to all, from villagers, dog walkers and cyclists to people wanting a drink with their friends and families wanting a Sunday roast. "The Miner's Arms, has bags of unrealized potential and will be a pub that villagers can be proud of – an exciting year ahead."
