Drivers are lucky to be alive after an accident on a high speed road in Macclesfield this weekend.

Two cars crashed occurred between McDonalds and Tesco on Saturday.

Cheshire Police have confirmed the outcome of the car accident in central Macclesfield this weekend, in a statement released to Macclesfield Nub News.

There were no casualties, despite road closures for early Saturday afternoon.

In a statement, Cheshire Police said: "Officers were called just before 1.10pm on Saturday 22 January following reports of a collision on Silk Road, Macclesfield involving a grey Ford Kuga, a white Volkswagen Golf and a grey Ford Fiesta.

"The driver of the Volkswagen Golf, a woman, was taken to hospital for further checks.

"The road was blocked while recovery took place."
