Do you fancy a cheeky Nando's in Macclesfield?

Well getting the family a round of butterfly chicken with Peri-Peri and chips could soon be possible, as one hungry Macc resident wants Nando's to come to our town.

Macclesfield man Yaj Ezil has launched a petition to bring the South African fast food chain to our town.

The change.org petition already has seen 50 locals pledge their support to bring Nando's to our town[.L].

Yaj said: "Macclesfield needs more food restaurants & top of the list is of course Nando's.

"Sign this petition to the get the attention of @NandosUK. If we work together as Macclesfield residents we will be scranning peri peri in our own town!"

Yaj has also tweeted the restaurant, but to no reply as of yet. The petition is planned to be resent to them as it acquires more signatures.

Nando's have been contacted for comment by Macclesfield Nub News.

The nearest Nando's to Macclesfield is Nando's Stockport in the Peel Centre, which is over nine miles away.

The food chain are still opening new outlets despite the pandemic, they opened one in Liverpool this week.

One commenter on the petition agreed with Yaj and said: "Our town needs a big name to draw people in. Why not Nandos?"

Earlier in the week, when we revealed The site of Revolution Macclesfield on Mill Street is up for sale this week, two Facebook commenters also expressed the desire for a Nando's in our town.

With Mill Street set to lose a signature store as Marks and Spencer prepares to close this time next year, perhaps the time is right for Nando's Afro-Portugese cuisine to come to Macc.
