A Macclesfield homeowner who turned an old Chester Road home into a sustainable, carbon neutral house will be giving a free talk in town.

Architect, retrofit specialist and Macctastic Member Cathy Mocke is Macctastic's guest speaker on 21st June, in a seminar taking place on Market Place.

She has converted a former Victorian pub on Chester Road to be one of the town's first net zero carbon homes.

The news of the net zero abode was first reported by Macclesfield Nub News in March this year.

Working with experts Ariva Renewables, the heavily insulated development will use no fossil fuels and has become an educational tool for homeowners, builders and landlords.
