May's Party in the Pews Festival hasn't even happened yet, but the local organisers have already announced more live music events in our town for later this year, under the same brand.

From September, Party in the Pews will be setting up camp in Cinemac for a trio of live music nights, taking place until the end of the year.

The Cinemac Sessions Brought to you by Party in the Pews & Puffer Fish Press, will feature a mixture of local talent and big names from the north west.

The first event, in September, features James Walsh, of Cheshire post-Britpop band Starsailor who have achieved ten UK Top 40 singles.

James Walsh fronted Warrington band Starsailor.
He released his latest solo album Coming Good earlier this year.

Including his work with Starsailor, he has sold over three million albums globally.

He'll be performing all the classic hits from Starsailor's back catalogue and new solo material.

It will be his first ever performance in Macclesfield.

James Walsh will be joined supported by Macclesfield's Joel Gardner.

Joel is a local grassroots music champion, who you may know from the live music nights at Macclesfield's The Button Warehouse.

You can read more about Joel and his music by clicking here.

This first concert takes place on Saturday September 23 from 7pm-10pm.

Tickets are £15 in advance (on this link) or £18 on the door.

The next of this newly-announced gigs is a Clint Boon DJ Set plus live sets by Sinclair + Officers & Gentlemen.

Boon, is known in equal parts for his music career and now his broadcasting voice.

And in November the legendary Clint Boon is bringing his Boon army to Cinemac Macclesfield.

Join the #BoonArmy with the original King of the Indie Disco with DJ Clint Boon.

Clint's career in the public eye began doing keyboards and additional vocals with Madchester band Inspiral Carpets.

In the 21st century, he's known best for his presenter days on XFM and currently as drive time presenter on XS Manchester.

Clint has hit the decks of just about every night sell out club in Manchester along with every festival stage too. And he'll hope to do the same in Macclesfield. Event organisers encourage you to get your tickets early as they are expecting a sell out.

Opening the night there will be live music from Macclesfield band Officers and Gentlemen (who have been going since the 1980s) and local young rockers Sinclair.

This event will take place on 25/11/23 7pm - 1am £10 advance tickets (on this link) or £15 on the door.

And last but not least in this slew of new gigs is an Xmas treat, on December 16 2023.

The Final Cinemac Sessions will feature Mark Morriss, frontman of 1990s band The Bluetones.

The band had 13 UK Top 40 singles, including UK No. 2 Slight Return. The Bluetones' last studio album was released in 2010.

Mark has released four solo albums, and is also a part of actor and musician Matt Berry's touring band The Maypoles.

As well as performing the classics from The Bluetones' three UK Top 10 albums, he'll share some new solo material.

It will also be his first gig in Macclesfield.

This concert features support from Leek's Vox Americana featuring Helen Walford.

This Cinemac gig will take place on 16/12/23 7pm-10pm. Tickets cost £15 advance (on this link) or £18 on the door.

The trio of shows are part of Cinemac's expansion on live music throughout 2023.

You can view the Roe Street venue's current gig line-up on this link.

And of course, there are still tickets for the main Party in the Pews Festival at Christ Church from Saturday May 27, please click here for more information.
