Adlington protest organisers warn of potential delays and disruption

Organisers of an upcoming protest in Adlington have warned of potential disruption.
Hundreds of people will gather at the roundabout near Adlington Golf Centre at 1pm on Sunday, February 15, to make their voices heard over plans to build thousands of homes in the parish.
It is to be the last protest for a while, as organisers focus on other ways of raising awareness.
However, it is also expected to be one of the busiest so far, with a fleet of milk floats, a parade of tractors and even a life-size cow model set to draw huge crowds.
As such, organisers have warned that there may be some delays on the roads in Adlington and Poynton.
Mark Hadfield, from the Supporters of the Adlington Greenbelt group, said: "Expect delays and disruption around Adlington for a couple of hours either side of the protest on the 15th, with slow-moving vehicles and increased traffic in the area."
Mark has stressed that the event is peaceful and family friendly.
Those taking part are invited to come in animal-themed fancy dress and make as much noise as possible.
