Bicycle worth hundreds of pounds stolen in south Macclesfield

Police in Macclesfield investigating the theft of a bicycle have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.

At around 9.55am on Saturday 3 August, an unknown man stole an orange Ragley Piglet bicycle from outside of the Burger King restaurant on London Road, Macclesfield.

Officers investigating the theft have now released a CCTV image of a man that they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.

The man is described as white, of slim build and with a distinctive cross-type tattoo on his right arm. At the time of the incident, he was seen wearing a dark green/black vest and a bucket-style hat.

PSCO Melissa Mellor, of Macclesfield Local Policing Unit, said:

"As part of our enquiries, we are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to get in touch with us to help progress our investigation.

"This incident will have occurred in a busy location, so we are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time to contact us if they recall seeing anything suspicious which may aid our enquiries.

"The same goes for anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images as we believe they may hold vital information.

"We would also like to appeal directly to the man pictured to get in touch with us."

A Google Search reveals the price of a Ragley Piglet bicycle ranges from £350 to £800.

The specific value of this missing bike is not known.
