'Blow dries for Beds' - Hairdresser on a mission to help hospice purchase vital new equipment

A hairdresser has set out to help a hospice purchase vital new equipment.
At the start of July, East Cheshire Hospice launched a 'once in a decade appeal' to help raise money for 16 new specialist beds, at a total cost of £95,684.
Now, Kiera Shuttleworth, who works at Roe 11, is offering free professional blow dries for anyone who donates a minimum of £15 to the cause.
The 19-year-old said: "With the hospice being mainly volunteers it would be impossible for them to afford this massive cost, that's why I think it's so important that we all chip in to help.
"Especially with the scary statistics that nearly one in two people are expected to get diagnosed with cancer in the UK.
"Unfortunately, the chances are us or people we may know will potentially at some point have to use services like the East Cheshire Hospice and we all want the best possible care and facilities for our loved ones.
"But without fundraising, this may not be possible for them."

Kiera says she was inspired to set up the campaign after seeing a post from a woman called Emily on Instagram.
"She got the all clear once but unfortunately it has come back again more aggressively this time and spread," Kiera said.
"She put a post up about how she had visited the hospice and how lovely it was and amazingly she was treated and how this was such a needed place for people with cancer to be able to go to.
"At this point I had no idea that the hospice was run by volunteers or the importance of the hospice as I've been fortunate enough to not have had any experience with it."
East Cheshire Hospice has been using the same beds for 10 years and they are no longer safe or comfortable for the patients.
The adjustable bed allows patients to find the most comfortable position to help relieve pain and also makes it possible for them to sit up and talk face-to-face with loved ones.
The lower side rails making hand holding easier and the beds are easy to move and steer, meaning patients can enjoy time outside in the garden or in the family room.
"These beds are so important for end of life care they give people comfort, dignity and safety to those at their most vulnerable," Kiera added.

To receive a free professional blow dry at Roe 11, simply bring along a screenshot of your donation to your appointment.
Kiera has set herself a target of raising £1,000 but would ideally like to raise enough to purchase a bed, £5,978.
