A school is looking to create a new facility for the entire Bollington community.

Dean Valley Community Primary School is on a mission to raise £35,000 to 'transform' its sports field.

Described as the school's 'most ambitious project yet', funds raised will help to address ongoing issues with drainage and turf quality.

Headteacher Vicky McPherson said: "This long-term investment will enhance children's physical and mental wellbeing, strengthen teamwork, and encourage greater community engagement – creating a space that can be enjoyed all year round."

The sports field fundraiser is being run in partnership with Bollington FC.

It was sparked by the school's recent footballing success, with participation among both boys and girls having rocketed over the past two years.

Improvements will be delivered in stages with the aim of significantly improving the field's playing surface.

Once completed, the school will maintain the pitch to ensure it remains in excellent condition.

The upgraded field will not only benefit pupils but will also provide Bollington United with a high-quality venue for weekend home matches.

Also lending his support to the cause is MP for Macclesfield, Tim Roca.

He send: "I am supporting Dean Valley Community Primary School with an important new project that will benefit both pupils and the wider Bollington community.

"The school is raising £35,000 to transform their sports field, addressing significant drainage and turf issues that currently limit its use.

"This investment will support children's physical and mental wellbeing, expand sporting opportunities for both girls and boys, and create a high-quality facility that can be used throughout the year, including wider community use in partnership with Bollington FC."
