'Booklover's paradise' - Church to host inaugural Macclesfield Book Festival
Bookworms are flocking to Silktown.
Christ Church will open to the public every weekend in February for the inaugural Macclesfield Book Festival.
From 11am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, visitors will be able to browse book and artisan craft stalls and enjoy talks with special guests, including authors, musicians and poets.
Opening weekend features a slideshow presentation delivered by David Tolliday about Charles Tunnicliffe, the world-famous artist born in Langley.
Weekend two focuses on all things poetry, with performances from Deborah Edgeley and Mark Sheeky.
History takes centre stage come the third weekend of February, including a talk on 'The Amazing Musical Opening at Christ Church' by local historian Dorothy Bentley Smith.
The Macclesfield Book Festival comes to a close on Sunday, February 22, coinciding with the Treacle Market.
