Community-driven pub secures future of vital resource for parents in need

A community pub has secured the future of a valuable resource for local parents.
The Old Millstone has taken over the running of the Macclesfield Baby and Children Library.
It will officially relaunch in June as the Milly Macc Parent Hub.
Landlady Eli Feney said: "Everyone that knows me knows I am passionate about helping people.
"This project has not been easy with long hours spent painting and building.
"The team of volunteers that have given up their time to be involved have been incredible!"
Shannon Lancaster set up the Macclesfield Baby and Children Library around five years ago, as a way of supporting parents struggling with the cost-of-living.
Starting out from her living room, Shannon later moved the service into Bethel Baptist Church, where it has been based ever since.

Now, Shannon has helped Eli get set up ahead of the Milly Macc Parent Hub's launch on Saturday, June 6.
Eli added: "Thank you to Shannon for all the work she has put in over the years.
"I want to build on her legacy, supporting local parents with young children.
"I'm excited to take on this project and continue the community work that is essential for our town and families in need."
The Milly Macc Parent Hub is located in the courtyard of the Old Millstone pub in a fully secured unit, monitored 24/7 by CCTV.
They will be celebrating the opening with a ribbon cutting, with certificates presented to volunteers who have supported the cause over the years.
Looking ahead, Eli is also launching Milly & Macc Wishes, which aims to provide terminally and critically ill children with unforgettable experiences.
