McCarthy Stone could open a second retirement village in Macclesfield.

The retirement property firm already operates an older people's complex on Coare Street.

And now, the Bournemouth-based company seeks views to open a second site in Macclesfield.

That is according to a pre-consultation phase that has just one live on their website.

It concerns the junction at Union Road and Buxton Road, where land could become 48 apartments.

McCarthy Stone seek views from the public regarding potential plans for the brownfield site, before itsubmits an official planning application to Cheshire East Council.

If it becomes reality, the site would have 33 car spaces, electric vehicle charging and a communal garden.

The 48 flats would be a mixture of one bedroom and two bedroom properties, with private sale, rent and part-rent/part-buy opportunities.

The specialised retirement community would come with guests suites where family members of their residents can stay.

Residents will benefit from facing the Macclesfield Canal, and being located just a short walk away from the Buxton Road Co-op, as well as the booming independent business community on Buxton Road.

The pre-consultation launched today, and can be filled in until Monday September 2 on this link.

An in-person exhibition of what the project could look like can also be seen at the St. Paul's Church Hall on Glegg Street, from 3pm to 7pm on Tuesday August 13.
