A flooring expert has seen his dream come true with the opening of a new store.

Martha Rose Interiors is now open at the Old Stables on Brook Street.

Behind the counter you will find Neville Hinchliffe, who brings more than two decades of experience to the role.

He said: "This has always been my dream – to open up in Macclesfield and run my own store in the town.

"It's been great being in the community again and meeting old friends and new acquaintances.

"It's been a great couple of months getting set up."

Neville spent 24 years at Arighi Bianchi, starting out when he was just 15-years-old.

After 11 years running the iconic Silk Road store's flooring department, he moved to Midlands-based Cousins Furniture.

Now, he has decided the time is right for a homecoming.

"It was always my intention to come back and open up in Macclesfield," Neville said.

"This is my home town, I'm born and bred Macclesfield, so hopefully we can do some good business."

Martha Rose Interiors can be found at the Old Stables on Brook Street, next door to Chrome Motors.

Neville added: "It's been a big project.

"It was an antiques and clock store (Massey & Dooley) but it had been left for many years.

"So, we have absolutely revamped the whole place.

"It's got character. It's a fantastic building, it's quirky. For me, it was an absolute no-brainer, it's a great little place."

The store is primarily focused on carpets and flooring, stocking a wide range of wood, laminate and luxury vinyl tile options.

They also have a selection of rugs and will be hosting exhibition featuring local artists.

It is named after Neville's daughter Martha Rose, a pupil at Park Lane School.

Neville added: "People can pop in anytime for a coffee and a chat, there's no need to make an appointment.

"I am so excited for this new venture!"
