A release window has been confirmed for the inaugural edition of a new Macclesfield culture magazine.

The Greenhouse Magazine will publish our first collection of new fiction, poetry, art and photography in a beautifully produced print magazine.

Announced last year, you can expect the first issue at an unspecified date in April 2022.

Amateur and professionals are invited to submit content, for the new magazine which is by Macclesfield and for Macclesfield.

Whether you're a writer, photographer, poet or artist, the publication will celebrate our town's thriving arts scene.

Macclesfield publisher, author and teacher Tom England (33) had this to say on his new mag.

"The final deadline is the end of February, and we are expecting to launch in April, he said.

"We have had lots of fantastic submissions from writers, artists and photographers from Macclesfield and the surrounding areas, as well as from further afield.

"It's looking like a fantastic showcase of the creativity which is already blossoming in Macclesfield.

"It should retail at £5. We are planning on selling in various businesses in Macclesfield and Manchester, and it will also be available to purchase online (print version only) - via our social media or website.

"We would also love to hear from any businesses who would be interested in stocking it."

The submission criteria for creatives are as follows:

  1. Stories should not exceed 5000 words
  2. Send up to five poems
  3. Artwork and photographs should be sent in high-res, suitable for printing
  4. Photographs of ceramics, sculptures, and other media are also welcome
Payment is not currently available, but may be an option if the magazine is a success. You have seven days to get your submissions in, and be a part of Macclesfield arts history. Submissions can still be made after February 28, however they will be considered for future editions. Full submission details can be found here. You can follow the new venture on Twitter.
