By James Kelly 24th Mar 2021

Firefighters have put out a vehicle fire in Henbury earlier today (24 March).

A crew from Macclesfield fire station were called to the scene on Chelford Road at around 3:45pm where they found a "small car well alight" on the main carriageway outside The Cock Inn.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire Service said: "A firefighter wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet. They then damped the car down to make it safe. Temperatures were monitored with a thermal imaging camera."

Firefighters also assisted police with traffic management and the car has now been removed from the scene.

The cause of the fire has not been revealed.
