Firefighters will swap their hoses for sponges as they raise money for charity.

Fire stations across Cheshire, including those in Macclesfield and Congleton, will be transformed into car washes over the coming months.

It is all for a special cause, with crews cleaning up cars to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Fire stations across Cheshire are holding charity car washes over the next few months to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity.

"Get your car cleaned and help raise much-needed funds for a great cause."

The Fire Fighters Charity seeks to help all serving and retired members of the UK fire family to live healthier and happier lives.

Offering a service tailored to each individual, the charity offers everything from centre-based residential programmes to a wide range of digital support.
