Follow in footsteps of Macclesfield mum by taking on London Marathon for Macclesfield Hospital

Ever fancied taking on the London Marathon? Now's your chance.
East Cheshire NHS Charity are looking to fill two exclusive places on the 2026 edition of the iconic 26.2-mile event.
By taking on the challenge, you will be supporting the charity who provide additional support for patients, their families and staff within the trust to make a stay in hospital that little bit better.
You will also be following in the footsteps of Macclesfield mum Helen Vye, who raised over £2,700 in aid of the children's ward at Macclesfield Hospital as a way of thanking them for the care her son, Owen, received for Autoimmune Neutropenia.
She said: "When our son was eight months old, he was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition which makes him more vulnerable to severe bacterial infections.
"As a result, we are frequently in and out of hospital as we manage his condition.
"One thing that has made a big impact is the care we have received on the Children's Ward.
"I'm proud of my achievement and to raise money for East Cheshire NHS Charity, to support them to continue to make a big impact on the children and families that are receiving treatment."

Next year's London Marathon takes place on Sunday, April 26.
Over 40,000 runners will take to the streets of the capital, passing by famous landmarks as thousands of spectators cheer them on.
Those wishing to take part will need to reach a minimum fundraising target of £2,000.
Successful entrants will be provided with dedicated support from East Cheshire NHS Charity's fundraising team.
