Macclesfield FC's first ever season will kick off in just under three months, with their league being confirmed earlier this week.

They will play in the North West Counties Premier Division, which is at Step 9 in the Football Pyramid.

This means Macclesfield FC will be five promotions away from the Football League, where the club which preceded Macclesfield FC were expelled from.

Macclesfield Nub News have compiled everything you'll need to know about the other 19 clubs Macclesfield FC will play next season.

AFC Liverpool

One of the youngest clubs in the division, AFC Liverpool were formed in 2008 by supporters of Liverpool FC.

They are a non-profit community-led club, who have competed in the North West Counties leagues since their inception.

They share a ground with Marine, who are two tiers above Macc and AFC Liverpool in football pyramid.

Ashton Athletic

Formed in 1968 in Ashton-in-Makerfield, The Yellows rejoined the North West Counties League for the 2007-08 season.

They were mid-table in the Premier Division before the 2020-21 season was curtailed.

Avro

Avro were fifth in the league when COVID-stopped the 2020-21 season.

The Oldham-based club were found in 1936, and have been members of the North West Counties Premier Division since 2018-19.

They were named after the British Aircraft manufacturer who were located in Failsworth.

Barnoldswick Town

Lancashire club Barnoldswick Town were formed in 1972. They were promoted to the North West Counties Premier Division in 2009-10.

The club play in a blue shirt with yellow sleeves. Their away kit is red.

One of the nicknames for the team is Barlick.

Burscough

Another Lancashire Club, the Linnets were founded the year after the end of the Second World War.

The Green Army most recently placed 12th in Macc's new competition, when the season met an early end. Burscough play at home in a green top with white shorts.

Like most teams in the NWCFL, they have never played a Macclesfield football club in their previous or current form.

Charnock Richard

One of the few village teams, Charnock Richard near Chorley were promoted to the North West Counties Premier Division in 2017.

They were founded in 1933, and have never been this high on the football pyramid before.

The team who also play in green, are from a place where just 1,700 live, which pales in comparison to the 51,000 people that live in Macc.

Irlam

Another village football club, but with a much larger population size, Irlam are based near the city of Salford.

Founded in 1969, the gained promotion to Macclesfield FC's current league in 2015-16.

The club were just inside the top ten when the season ended prematurely.

Litherland REMYCA

Founded in 1959 in the Sefton borough of Merseyside, Litherland were bottom of the Premier Division before the season was null and voided, so were spared relegation.

Their second part of their team name comes from the club traditionally taking players from the nearby REM social club and the Bootle Young Men's Christian Association.

The club play in red and black.

Longridge Town

Also known as The Ridge, Longridge Town FC are a Lancashire Club who will celebrates their 25th birthday this year.

They were 14th when 2020–21 North West Counties Football League Premier Division was called off after just five games.

They were promoted to this competition in 2019.

Lower Breck

Lower Breck play at the Anfield Sports and Community Centre, which is not to be confused with Liverpool FC's ground.

The Anfield Club were founded 11 years ago, and were promoted to the North West Counties League during the pandemic, but could not complete their debut season in the North West Counties League Premier Division.

So just like Macclesfield FC, they will hope to complete their first full season in this competition.

Northwich Victoria

The second Cheshire club in the league alphabetically, are a traditional rival of Macclesfield Town. Our new club will hope to continue that rivalry.

Another fallen giant, like The Silkmen - Northwich Victoria are a supporter owned club which were also once in the Football League. They were 2nd when this season ended early.

In the late 1970s, they reached the fourth round of the FA Cup. The best for any team now in the North West Counties Premier Division. They were formed in 1874, and are the oldest club in the league.

Padiham

A small town three miles west of Burnley, Padiham have been in the North West Counties Leagues since 2014-15. They were founded in 1878.

The Storks were 11th when the 2020-21 season was called off.

Like Macclesfield FC, they also play at home in blue.

Prestwich Heys AFC

The Heys located in Prestwich, Greater Manchester were another team promoted during COVID-times.

Their promotion was announced this week, with the restructuring of post-COVID non-league football. Like Macc, it'll be their debut season in the Division.

The club, formerly known as Heys Old Boys, are currently at their highest position ever in the football pyramid.

Runcorn Town

Another Cheshire derby for Macc, Runcorn Town were formed 54 years ago, when they were then known as Mond Rangers.

Their first season in the North West Counties Premier Division was in 2011-12.

Their home kit is two shades of blue, meanwhile their away kit is pink and black.

Skelmersdale United

The Blueboys were founded in 1882. They were relegated to the North West Counties Premier Division 2019.

Despite Skelmersdale's league campaign being cancelled. They reached the FA Cup first round proper this season.

Sadly they were thumped 4-1 by professional League Two club Harrogate Town.

Squires Gate

Squires Gate are the longest serving team in the North West Counties Premier Division.

They have been in this competition since 1991. The club, located in Blackpool were founded in 1948 as Squires Gate British Legion.

Like Macc, their home kit is blue. However, while Macclesfield FC's away kit is white, Squires Gate play away games in red.

Vauxhall Motors

Probably the best known football clubs in the country which doesn't take their name from the town they are from. Vauxhall Motors are another Cheshire club for Macc to face, located in Ellesmere Port.

The Motormen were originally the team of staff at the Vauxhall Ellesmere Port car plant.

The club were once just one league away from the Football League. However, their spell in the sixth tier ended in 2014 and they now reside in Level 9 on the football pyramid with Macc.

Winsford United

Another club founded in the Victorian era, the local member of the North West Counties League Premier Division were founded in 1883. They will be another team from our county to face Macc, being from West Cheshire.

The Blues' first season in the North West Counties Football League Premier Division was in the 2007-08.

Former Everton and Wales goalkeeper Neville Southall played youth football for Winsford United in 1979-80.

Wythenshawe Town

Another team founded in 1946, Wythenshawe Town were also promoted as part of Tuesday's non-league football reforms.

It is the highest position the semi-professional club have ever been. Like Macclesfield FC, they also play in blue.

The club was mentioned by Macc's Director of Football Robbie Savage, in one of the tems he was looking forward to seeing The Silkmen play.

And that was every team Macclesfield FC will play for the 2021-22 campaign.

The fixtures will be released in early July.
