A crowdfunder has been started to help a Macclesfield family get back on their feet following a housefire.

On February 13 2024, a fire occurred in the Upton Priory area of Macclesfield.

The Bailey family have had the support of the community both emotionally, and now financially.

This is as a crowdfunder has been started by a neighbour to help them rebuild their lives.

Friend Kerry Fulcher has started a fundraiser for them on GoFundMe.

"There was no one hurt which was the main thing," she said.

"[sic]... they very sadly have very little left from the fire and what is left has smoke damage.

"They are a lovely family with 3 beautiful girls and would appreciate anything that we can do to help I would kindly ask even if everyone just donated a pound it would help make a massive difference to get them started again."

Already, the £500 fundraising goal has been smashed, with £1345 fundraised so far.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue posted an incident report of the fire, which occurred at 3:10pm last Tuesday.

"A fire involving a domestic garage saw two properties being evacuated as firefighters tackled the blaze," they said.

"A cordon was established as crews worked to isolate the electrics and four firefighters in breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

"Firefighters continued to cool the garage. The gas supplier was asked to attend to ensure there was no damage to the incoming gas supply and an investigation into the cause of the fire is being carried out."

One fire engine from Macclesfield, one from Bollington and one from Wilmslow were in attendance.
