A Macclesfield illustrator has launched his 2024 Macclesfield-themed Christmas cards, set to benefit charity.

Since 2020, Adam Schofield, who trades as Adam Francis Illustrator, has illustrated and sold Macclesfield themed Christmas cards, donating half of the profit to local charities.

This year Adam is donating 50% of his Christmas card profits to the Mayor of Macclesfield's Charity Fund, which is fundraising for Space 4 Autism and Macclesfield Community ArtSpace.

Adam said "As a former Mayor of Macclesfield (2018/19), it is a role that I am passionate about, and I always try to support our Mayor every year with their fundraising efforts.

"This will be the first year that I am supporting the Mayor's charity fund with my Christmas cards, mainly because Sandy, our current Mayor, has been very supportive of Made in Macclesfield, which I co-founded to highlight and promote the local makers of Macclesfield, and also the two charities that the Mayor is supporting this year are two that I know very well and am delighted to fundraise for."

"There are two Christmas cards to choose from this year, a Macclesfield architectural scene and a card featuring the Macclesfield Panda!

"I am often asked about the relevance of the Macclesfield Panda, of which I tend to reel off a whole history, but pop over to the Silk Museum and see it for real."

"This will be my fifth year producing Christmas Cards and I can't see it stopping, they've proved to be really popular with my customers, who also appreciate that they're supporting a local charity and a small local business with their purchase."

The cards are sold in packs of five, one design per pack, and cost just £5.95.

Over the past four years, Adam, who is also a Chair of the board of Trustees at Macclesfield good cause The Rossendale Trust, has raised over £1700 for local charities through his Christmas card sales, and hopes that this year will be his most successful one yet. (Cheshire Streetwise were his chosen charity in 2020, 2021 & 2022 with Just Drop In, receiving £730, chosen last year)

The cards can be bought on Adam's website and can either be posted out or collected in person.

The Visitor Information Centre, on Market Place, will also be selling them.

"I'd like to take the opportunity to thank everybody who has bought cards from me in the past and I hope that you all love the new designs."
