A printmaking art group is launching its second exhibition later this month.

The Print Block, which formed around August last year, is a group of artists and creatives looking to become a charitable incorporated organisation.

Their second exhibition, titled 'Adventures in Printmaking', will be on display in Macclesfield from June 20 to August 8.

Lindsey Vigurs, a member of The Print Block, said: "We're from such a range of backgrounds and ages that everything we do is new for somebody, but somebody else is experienced in it, so we get to have the experience of doing a sort of solo group exhibition.

"With this exhibition, people will get to come in and see the work of the people of The Print Block and get to know us a little bit more."

The exhibition will be on in Unit 37 in the Grosvenor Centre, next to the Quiet Cat Bookshop, where the group's first free workshop will take place on 1261 Festival Day, June 20.

Patty's Pop-up Paper Mache Open Studio and Workshop has occupied this unit since April 27, with her residency ending on June 5.

The Print Block will take over this space and plan to cover the bare walls with this exhibition.

They have been able to lease the unit thanks to support from Centric Community Projects, which provides spaces free of charge to non-profit organisations.

"Because we're a group of artists, we said, well, what's in our drawers and in our studios and what work already exists that we can use?" Lindsey explained.

"I suppose it's a many-pronged approach in that it means the walls are less bare and, because it's a very retail-focused unit, there's racking on the walls, so it's an activity for us that extends our practice.

"Some of us are used to exhibiting and maybe have been doing that across a couple of decades, but other younger members maybe aren't used to exhibiting."

The 'collection of print from A to Zine' will all be unframed and clipped onto the retail racks.

The exhibition will be open 10am-4pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Treacle Sundays, from June 20 to August 8.
