Have you seen this digger in Macclesfield this week?

By Alex Greensmith 21st Jan 2022

A digger stolen earlier this week is being tried to be located in Macclesfield.

The yellow vehicle was nicked on the evening of Monday 17th January 2022, near to Macclesfield's Back Eddisbury Road.

Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team have launched a witness appeal into the theft.

Sergeant Rob Simpson said: "We're you on or near the A537 Close to Back Eddisbury Road between 17:45hrs and 18:15hrs?"

"Did you see this CAT 1.7t digger being loaded onto a vehicle or trailer? Do you have dash cam footage?

"The digger was taken from the roadside in a field. We are convinced that the removal of it at that time of day will have caused some disruption to other traffic.

"Did you see the digger on a trailer havering through Macclesfield and or through Buxton?"

Any information can be disclosed to Macclesfield Police or Cheshire Police by contacting 101 referencing crime number IML1180562.
