New East Cheshire Hospice hike to raise thousands for the Macclesfield good cause

Macclesfield's East Cheshire Hospice are very excited to introduce a brand new event for summer 2022.

The Hospice-to-Hospice Hike, taking place on Saturday 2nd July 2022, will see fundraisers trek a up to 23 miles amid beautiful scenery.

This challenging event collaborates with St Rocco's Hospice, working jointly to reach individual Hospice fundraising goals.

The Hospice to Hospice Hike offers two challenges. Either the full marathon hike; from St Rocco's Hospice to East Cheshire Hospice, or the half a marathon hike; starting at The Cottons Spa and Hotel, Knutsford and finishing at Macclesfield's East Cheshire Hospice.

The Finishing point for all East Cheshire Hospice participants will be at East Cheshire Hospice. Is this Event for me? Participants must be aged 16 or above. Participants aged 16 and 17 must be accompanied by an adult.

East Cheshire Hospice is located on Millbank Drive.

This Event will require a reasonable fitness level and training to reach the mileage chosen.

The Hospice-to-Hospice hike is exceptionally challenging. Fundraising: East Cheshire Hospice depends on support from its local community to deliver its essential care. Therefore, we suggest all participants set a target to raise £250 in sponsorship to support the Hospice.

Fundraising can be done individually or jointly with friends, family, or colleagues.

East Cheshire Hospice offers to support for those affected by life-limiting illnesses.

The East Cheshire Hospice team and volunteers will welcome all hikers early Saturday morning.

A cooked breakfast will be provided to gear you up for your exhilarating hike challenge.

Following breakfast, you will be transported by coach to your start point, dependent on your choice.

You will be provided with a map and directions to navigate the route.

East Cheshire Hospice has served our town for 35 years.

There will be marshals, checkpoints, water stations and toilets on the route.

Finally, when you finish at East Cheshire Hospice, your destination, you will receive an environmentally friendly medal to celebrate and remember your outstanding achievements.

The routes boasts fabulous views across the green fields of Cheshire throughout the epic hike, as you pass through scenic villages and hamlets heading east towards Macclesfield. You will pass through Ollerton and on to Chelford with the hills of the Peak District rising in the distance, before continuing towards Monks' Heath and Henbury with the edges of the Capesthorne estate in your periphery.

The final stretch of the route enters the Silk Town itself, winding through the streets of Macclesfield towards a warm welcome at the finish line at East Cheshire Hospice. You will receive: - An event t-shirt pre-collected before the event
