Hospital staff ready to reach new heights in bid to improve A&E experience for patients

Hospital staff are racing against the clock to raise money for the emergency department.
A team from A&E at Macclesfield District General Hospital will take on the Three Peaks Challenge this weekend.
Starting on Saturday (August 2) the 11-strong crew will attempt to conquer Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in under 24 hours.
In doing so, they will be raising money to help improve the A&E experience for both staff and patients.
Matt Heywood, consultant in emergency medicine at Macclesfield Hospital, said: "This endeavour is not just about the physical challenge, but also about coming together as a team to improve the environment for our patients and staff.
"We want to make our environment more comfortable and inviting not only for our patients but also for our incredibly hard-working staff.
"I'm the lucky one of the team who gets to do the driving between the mountains, as well as making sure there is food, drink and dry kit in the bus for our intrepid adventurers.
"The support we've received so far has been overwhelming, including Mr Botwe and the team at Tytherington School, who have very generously lent us one of their minibuses the trip."

The well-know challenge sees adventurers climb and descend the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales.
The walking distance covered is around 26 miles, whilst climbing and descending around 3,000 metres (10,000 feet).
