Many Northern trains travelling from Macclesfield to Manchester for the most of May will be HALF-PRICE!

Macclesfield: A nationwide train ticket discount means you can get to and from Manchester for the same price as a cup of coffee.

This week, the Department for Transport launched the Great British Rail Sale, in a bid to boost dwindling passenger numbers in our post-COVID, work-from-home world.

Macclesfield has not missed out on the benefits, as it costs you just £1.50 for an Advance Purchase single to Manchester Piccadilly.

It also costs another £1.50 to do to the journey from Manchester Piccadilly to Macclesfield.

The flash sale will last just for ten days, but you can buy discounted travel ahead of time for almost all of May.

The flash sale will last for less than two weeks, but you can buy tickets for trains beyond this date.

You can get up to 50% off If you're travelling between 25 April and 27 May.

But tickets for these dates must be booked in advance, and they are only for Northern services to the city.

Avanti West Coast trains aren't partaking in the offer, as this screenshot suggests.

There are £1.50 one-way sale tickets on selected routes for travelling between 25 April and 27 May.

Book your tickets between now and 2 May to save money on your journey.

Be quick - weekend tickets for this route are already short in supply.

The cheapest single fare on a Northern non-sale date is normally £4.70, meaning you are saving £3.20 when you buy a single ticket for £1.50.

For a journey both ways, it would normally cost you £9.40, but you can get tickets for the most of May for just £3. Saving £6.40.

Macclesfield Railway Station has served our town since 1873.

Please note: No refunds are allowed on Great British Rail Sale tickets.

The offer only applies for Northern services, and tickets bought digitally.

You cannot get this offer at a ticket office.
