Today (Tuesday 30 March) is Cheshire Day, a chance to celebrate all the great things about our county and our local neighbourhoods.

Cheshire Day takes place on 30 March because it was on this day all the way back in 1300 that the earliest surviving Cheshire Magna Carta was issued.

Visit Cheshire, the organisers of today's virtual event, are encouraging local residents to share their favourite walks, attractions, businesses and views on social media, using the hashtag #CheshireDay

Other ideas include:

- Sharing what you love about Cheshire (and any new lockdown discoveries)!

- Telling us when you are planning to reopen (and what we can look forward to) if you are a local business.

- Saying what you are looking forward to doing this year.

- Highlighting any hidden gems on our doorstep in Macclesfield.

- Enjoying a meal made with local Cheshire produce and uploading photos of this on social media.

What is your favourite thing about Macclesfield? Might it be one of our pubs, cafés or restaurants, a special walk in the hills, or maybe the community spirit of local residents?
